Beyond Technique Advanced Intensive Students
Oh the Places You Will Go!
Last week our Beyond Technique Advanced Summer Intensive started! These dedicated students have been studying ballet for years, but it’s never too late to begin your training! Our School prepares its students so well that they are often accepted into selective programs in addition to their BMS curriculum.
Student Chloe Hana Dewitt talks about her experience “I had the opportunity to attend Nashville Ballet's Summer Intensive for two weeks. I enjoyed meeting other dancers from all over the country and making connections that will last a lifetime. It was also really cool to learn new dance styles from new teachers. We had four classes a day, which was hard, but it was still a lot of fun. I made tons of memories and some great friends. I would have to say my favorite memory was laughing with my friends after a long day in the studios, telling stories about our days, and playing games. I'm so grateful to have had this experience! I look forward to finishing the summer with Ballet Memphis' Beyond Technique Summer Intensive.”
This summer I attended Kansas City Ballet’s five week summer intensive. Having new teachers every day and learning new styles of dance really expanded my understanding of movement, which is helping my classical training. I had so much fun meeting people and forming new connections that will last me a lifetime. I can’t wait for the upcoming year and to see what next summer will bring!
Another student, Caitlin Lee, also attended the Kansas City Ballet Intensive. "Kansas City has been so, so amazing! It’s been very challenging, but it is also a healthy and encouraging environment! I have loved all my class mates and teachers!!"
We are so proud of our students doing great things in Memphis and beyond! Our Beyond Technique Advanced Intensive students have are finishing up their second week, and they are already rehearsing for their performance on the final day!
